Wampa
Hi all. I have some experience with modeling but in texturing, lightning and rendering I am new. During weekand I worked on visualisation of exterior house. I have a problem with radiosity. I use VIZ 2005. On pictures are shadows dark but radiosity is set on 80 percent quality. Please write some critiques and solutions. giraffe
I think this is an update-havent seen the previous ones. I think you must tweak your light settings: now the variety of dark shadows, bright parts, specular highlights, sun receiving surfaces can not be seen. and I advise you to change the direction of the sun. Then shadows can become a part of the composition. now the shadows are not significant- and some of them are even lost... (maybe it can be a good idea to use raytrace shadows until you set your light-shadow composition because shadpw mapping can be tricky in the beginning). and you must tweak your material settings-some are overbright... giraffe
I am not very familiar with radiosity method... in your scene there seems to be as if too strong ambient light and so it looks the image flat and without depth. since you are not using fakosity method, I guess you dont have seperate ambient lights in your scene-this maybe due to your radiosity settings. You must tweak your radiosity settings. There is also an exposure control- start tweaking these settings too. and make sure you must wrap your materials with "advanced lighting override" so you can have a better control on your materials : how they receive GI and emit GI. Ricardo Eloy
Instead of using radiosity, you might want to take a look at this... http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4594&highlight=ring+technique [] Rick
