Jet
been working on a couple of things. modeling, materials, lighting etc. all the fun stuff I have discovered the low poly modeling technique and i really like it, just going to have to get the hang of it though. IM so used to doing everything to scale and extrememly well proportions with autocad so its kina hard to fudge things. but anyway. here is something that i worked on. its a basic room and i was just doing different things such as using RAYTRACE (my new best friend!) and chaning the parameters of it, like the parrall/perpendicu, and the fresnal. also the modeling again was fun to learn finaly. I do however need some help on i guess the blend material, i want to create a reflected ceiling in this room, using one material, i saw the tutorial for it, but it goes past what i can do i guess. Oh well, Comments and critiques are always cool. Thanks Jet
Iain Denby
Looks like a load of balls to me! Keep practicing! :-)
Jet
Thanks Dibbers, What I want to work in is control. Being in more control over the output and not just leave it to chance after a calculation. So i just started out with this small room and put some stuff in there. raytrace and falloff is wonderful and so is the connect mesh method with edges sub catagory. I swear it seems like some things are beginning to come around. the more i mess with it the better. Jet
Ricardo Eloy
One tip that might be useful: use a sub-map for the reflections. The grout is as reflective as the tiles, which seems not normal. Have fun!
muzzy
Looks like you have the same reflection value for all elements. Door is reflecting same as wall and balls. If you change each materials reflection value and play with attenuation of raytrace ( if default max raytrace), you can get very nice results. Check this tutorial's reflection part http://www.cgarchitect.com/upclose/article19_TB.asp Also wanna play more.. Create two plane for opposite walls, put raytrace %100 precent reflection. Change the max depth to the number of times you want to reflect to the other side.

Jet
Thanks Thieverycorp! i will keep posting practice images! Right now i feel pretty safe as to say i think i have finally settled with 3dsmax radiosity and vray as well. i will just use them when i feel like one presents an advantage over the other! and try to learn as much as possible about both!
