hat-rack
I've been messing about with radiosity for a few days and can never seem to get the right results no matter what. I have my system units matching my file units and am using a real world scale, I have my ies sky and ies sun set to lower values to stop my scene becoming too hot. For some reason the ambient levels in the mapping dialog box are way up too. attached are the results I get. In the viewport, the result is what I want! but when I render.... no soft shadows, no nice material... I just cant figure it out. Ive tried changing the meshing parameters to .2m, iterations to 20 and filtering to 2 but to no avail. can anyone suggest what im doing wrong? Aaron
It looks like your exposure levels are off. Open the Environment Dialog and make sure Logarithmic Exposure is set. If you are using the Sun / daylight system, make sure you have the "exterior" and "daylight" option selected. Also, for the physical scale, first set it to 1.0 then select the daylight system, go to the modify panel and copy and paste the sunlight multiplier value into the physical scale. This should fix the problems.

abicalho
You have a very high Ambient Light - make sure it's Black. Alexander
