aflack
I set up a file to work in milimeters so that 1 unit = 1 milimeter and am using Mental Ray so I have to set the Energy values very high to be able to see any Global Illumination. I have read in other threads that if your file's units are set to meteres or cm then the energy values can be a lot lower. Is there away to convert the units in max so that 1 unit = 1 cm or 1 unit = 1 meter? Thanks
quizzy
in MAX5 you have 2 kinds of units: System units and display units. If you import acad files which are drawn in mm then you should set your system units on mm.... The display units is what you see when you type in a number, then it "converts" the system units into the display units.. So you can set your display units to cm or m and still work in mm, but the values you have to type in are not that big.
