Tim Nelson
I just installed Viz 2005 and I'm really liking it EXCEPT for one major problem. I can't seem to toggle between 1 viewport and 4 like I used to. I know the "W" key is now 'move', but even if I go into the viewport config. menu and choose 4 viewports, it will flash for a second, and then just go back to one. I don't think its a display driver because I've tried openGL and directX. Anybody else run into the same problem?
Brian Cassil
Try alt+W. That's how it is in Max 6 anyway which was different from Max 5. You can of course change the shortcut key back to W like I did.
mbr
I've had problems with that with Max 5.1 . It's only with models I get somewhere else, and it will flash to the 4 windows for a millisecond, then go back to the full screen. Alt+W ? I'll give it a try. Tim Nelson
Well I finally got it figured out...somehow. I tried ALT+W before and nothing ever happened. Then after switching display drivers and trying again, it finally worked. Case closed!
tcorbett
Yeah, I found the restructure of the UI pretty annoying. I actually used the tabbed view all the time - now I will have to make my own custom version. I just turned my "W" key back to my viewport toggle. (Also my "E" key to Zoom Extents Selected) Here's a problem I am having - I have customized my interface to bring back some of the menus I miss, and have saved the custom ui, but everytime I open VIZ 2005, it reverts to it's old UI. My new key allocations remain, but the menus do not. Is this a bug, or am I just doing it wrong?
