C4D tutorials specifically for arc viz

Recommended Posts

Could anyone point towards Cinema4D tutorials specifically oriented towards architectural visualization?

I'm not aware of any, but I am not a C4D expert, either. What is it you want to learn about?

So far my impression is that C4D is not an architectural program, so you must figure out to use it for that puropse. Hummm...sounds like one would want a tutorial...

yeah, that's pretty much the same feedback I got at CGTalk.

I'm finally getting around to learning C4D, and have some arch students to work with in near term, though most are design & art students.

hmmmm, maybe I should write one....:-)

Kevin, if you ask specific questions, the regulars of this board will answer as best as they can.

Ernest is correct in stating its not an architectural app. Its a general 3D app, and a good one at that. The beauty of this application, I think, is it's simple interface and intuitive nature - this is of course my opinion.

In order to use Cinema for architecture, most people use a seperate modelling app. I use FormZ, Strat uses ACad, and I think Ace Face uses a mix of FormZ and ArchiCAD (Ernest, whats your weapon of choice?). So your challenge is to learn how to render/animate with C4D and how to integrate it into your pipeline. Telling us exactly how you would like to use it, will allow us all to offer better advice.

Thanks, Steve.

I'm trying to keep my list of apps to a minimum, so I'll probably try to do most of my modeling in C4D (though SketchUp looks promising).

I'll be sure to be a total pest with nubie questions as I get more into this! :-)

Thanks, again!

Datacad, though I sometimes use Rhino and FormZ...and really want to get to know some modeling in C4D--especially the subD surfaces. It seems like a much easier way to deal with soft, cushy stuff. Actually, I hate doing soft, cushy stuff, but I must forge ahead--though I walk through shadow of the valley of the interior-design client, I shall fear no pillow...
