Allen Bussell
Getting close to the end here. Any advice to make this image better prior to hitting the render button? Thanks all Lightwave 7.5c
Chad Warner
One thing I would suggest if you are going to have that much sky is to have some clouds in it. -Chad
Allen Bussell
Thanks, Chad...should have mentioned that the image is straight out of LW - haven't composited the sky into the picture yet. You're right on though - looks pretty flat in the background.
Charles Gaushell
Hello Allen, It is looking nice. A little too much blue light perhaps. Should be warmer. Also it is evident that there is no horizon background. Perhaps a tree line would help. I agree on the sky. I would just render one in in lieu of a composite. But that is a judgment call on your end. Ernest Burden III
I would think twice about the sky. I've seen too many renderings ruined by a bad sky. So if you use one, use a good one, balance the color and contrast, make sure the angle of view for the sky photo aprox. matches the angle of your image (to avoid out-of-scale look) and that your map has a horizon and you match it to your image horizon. Otherwise, I think your image is in great shape. The red Jeep (hey, that's my car) would be better slid 1/2 length to the left--open up the view to the stores. The walking people are good, could they be pulled forward to appear larger? Finally, I like your cropping overall, but, leaving the right exactly as it is, you could use some 'breathing room' on the left. You need to give the main facade some visual area to relate to. Lose the tree behind the building, or make it bigger. As it is, it's just a fuzz. Lastly, all the signs are plain, except the coffee which has a circle=out-of-place. IC
I think it looks really good as is (even the plain sky) I would put some detail on the little canopies though-they look a little plasticky. Nice atmosphere. I like the strong blue ambient.
Allen Bussell
Here's the result. Still looking for the "go ahead" for the large render from my client. Created a new scene for a later in the day look but kept the old one intact as well. Looking at updating the signage - the client wanted them simple - the coffee place at the end is supposed to be a major coffee house - but cannot show yet - so I was giving a hint as to what would be there - without showing logos, etc. thanks, everyone, for you input - still time to tweek so anymore comments are welcome

Allen Bussell
Re-render quickly - midday scene Moved camera back a little Added background buildings, added motion blur on cars in street, moved couple closer to camera, moved red SUV to left a little, removed background tree. thanks again everyone. Ricardo Eloy
Really nice work. The asphalt looks too white, though. Maybe you should darken it a tad to get some more contrast between the building, the sky and the pavement. I like the "end of the day" shot better. Allen Bussell
Thanks, Rick - I'll give reducing the diffuse or messing with the color channel on the forground concrete - may give the surface a more "used" look too. I too like the end of the day shot better...have to wait on the client - see which he wants.
