hat-rack
This is my first vray attempt. how can I improve my image? The plants are "washed" out and on the right hand wall a bit of the sky seems to be reflecting onto it. I know I have to make the glass less mirror like and ill do that on my next render. also some of the white walls seem a bit too hot. Ill tone down the ies sun and add a ies sky to lighten up the shadows? Constructive criticism please!
Joosti Ink
Just one sun from the sunlight system in max (=direct light) with Vray shadows checked will do fine for your shadows. (don't use raytraced shadows!) For skylight you can use the skylight in the Vray render options, also for the reflexions. There's plenty of info on this at the vray forum. Do you use vray materials? What version of Vray do you use? bart..
giraffe
better use vray environment light.adjust the multiplier and color. one direct light is enough for the sunlight. better to put your light sources one by one. first the environment skylight and make a test render. and then put the sun and make render. dont forget to turn off default lights from global settings. dont use raytrace materials or raytrace maps. pls look at this tutorial: http://www.osmosis.com.au/info/tutorials/studyhall_exterior.htm
