Hy

I don't know if i post in the googd topic, but i try...we'll see

I have to model a big scene, many objects, ESPECIALLY shutters, which are made whith 50 surfaces each !! There are about 250 shutters in the projext i model.... i really don't know how to represent them..

If someone has an idea....

Thaxx per advance

by the sounds of it these shutters are a pretty prominent feature in the scene.

if they are then just try to take it easy on the poly count, ppl wont nessesarily be focused souly on the shutters so lowering the polycount is a wise move.

if i got a load of shutters or louvres to do i use a flat surface with a bitmap on it. most effective.

What software are you using for modelling and rendering.

If you are modelling in Max I would model one shutter then make all others 'Instance' copies of the original. Renderers like Brazil and VRay are very efficient when rendering lots of instanced objects. That's how they do those billion, trillion polygon renders.

Thanxx guys...You're right STRAT, Shutters are not only a prominent feature...They ARE the project...

I model whith Rhinoceros, and render scenes whith max 5 radiosity renderer (quite the same as viz radiosity)....

Don't know yet which method i'll use, but 10xx for advices ;)
