AtomicZA
Trying to create sand blasted glass... Does anybody know where I can find a tutorial for this (Using Lightwave) Im new to using lightwave so you gonna have to be realy clear on what you say Thanks
Tim Nelson
I haven't used lightwave before, but whats worked for me in the past is to make a material that has a small noise map to it, and also some transparency. I'm sure a lot of it depends on how close you will see the glass at, but if you are not right up next to it, there is a lot you can fake.
Ernest Burden III
Some programs may have special shaders, but we have discussed frosted glass here before, and the mose effective simple method is to use noise as a bump map, but VERY VERY small, pull the transparency down a bit and while I have tried my best to avoid it (with Lightscape), a small amount of self-illumination. You can pull shininess down some, but with LS it can only go to about 85% before the materail no longer works. Give it a try and report back ehat your results are. Oh, and be prepared for a slower than expected render time.
IC
I could send you some materials for you to have a look at if you like. Glass is easy to do in LW and the render times are hardly affected unless you use caustics or radiosity.
