usarchcorp
I'm kinda new here and for the past weeks i've been practicing sketchup vray for my last year in college. I'm hoping to use vray for my thesis or maybe revit.. I can't seem to trace what the problem is. I don't know if it's my video card or just wrong settings of vray, but whenever i render other files, it renders smooth and clean. unlike this one. please help! whats wrong?! ( thanks guys in advance! cheers!
Bruce Hart
What are your colour mapping settings? Do you have a high dark or bright multiplier with "don't affect colours" checked?
usarchcorp
What are your colour mapping settings? Do you have a high dark or bright multiplier with "don't affect colours" checked? Sir Bruce, Thanks for the reply! anyway, I've checked what settings i was using. The type is "Intensity Exponential" Affect Background = checked Dark Multiplier - 2.3 Clamp Output = unchecked Bright Multiplier - 1.8 Sub pixel = unchecked I tried experimenting on the Sub Pixel and i checked it. It became smoother but i can't seem to draw the shadows that much. I was trying to get the brightness and the shadows of the third picture but can't seem to pull it off.. thanks sir in advance! alywhosane
I see ur using QMC and Lightcache for ur primary n secondary bounces..try using Irradiance map (Set it to Low Preset) and light cache for secondary bounce as for colour mapping use Exponential and leave the settings to default or else use Rheinhard with gama set to .25 or if u use .5 it will balance exponential and rheindard 50-50..hope it helps u out.. Bruce Hart
Hi usarchcorp, If your scene is set up correctly with a Vray sun at 1 and environment light at 1, you should not need to adjust the dark/bright multipliers from 1 either, as there would be more than enough light in your outdoor scene. Obviously your sun is not working at all, but the skylight is. I have not used Vray for SketchUp but you probably need to click on the "default" button to make the sun source a Vray Sun and you should be in business. usarchcorp
Rheinhard will be in ur Color Mapping Rollout in the dropdown box the last selection..... Thanks Alywhosane! now I'll just experiment on the multipliers to get the brightness that i want. the next problem I have is that I don't know how to make a bump map. i have downloaded a bump map for the brick and for the tile, but then I don't see the difference. Is there a site where I can download bump maps? I really want to see some difference on the textures. maybe I'll just post another thread regarding that matter. thanks Alywhosane!
