Tommy L
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Architectural_rendering Its a bit thin isnt it?
Iain Denby
No. Straight to the point. No waffle
mattclinch
SAI should be on there at least, no?
Tommy L
Hello Iain! I like waffle. And its a broad subject. I was quite surprised to see such a concise entry.
Crazy Homeless Guy
I have never edited a Wikipedia entry before, but there is also that possibility. I think it posts, but if it is not accurate, it will be modified, or changed back to the original. I did just add CGArchitect as an external link at the bottom. Did it come through on your end? Technically I don't think Jeff could add it, but anyone else can.
Peter M. Gruhn
The way it equates with photorealism makes it seem written by someone outside the field.
-MerlyN-
Yeah, came through. I, too, think its straight to the point. Though, it sounds a bit dry IMO, and doesnt give an impression of the real possibilities of archviz... - Merl
AJLynn
What's great about Wikipedia is that any of you guys could add to the article. Tom, your assignment this week is to write something that makes architectural rendering seem interesting
Professor
I'll second the assignment for Tom Also, Arch Viz is more than just "buildings" IMO. Granted, the term Architectural implies buildings, but what about landscapes, water courses, civil infrastructure (bridges, dams, highway projects, airports, etc...). By the way, the CGArchitect link is there. Thanks for adding that in - this is such a great forum!
Crazy Homeless Guy
The link for Architectural Illustrator is even more barren that that of Architectural Rendering. Maybe someone should take that portion on as well. I am not volunteering, my schedule is way to full as it is.
Iain Denby
In a way, because it covers such a broad subject, a concise entry is best.
Tommy L
What's great about Wikipedia is that any of you guys could add to the article. Tom, your assignment this week is to write something that makes architectural rendering seem interesting Well there's already alot of people in the field....maybe instead of making it sound interesting, I should make it sound difficult and unrewarding. Inxa
Even if we write more detailed information, I think it will still be difficult to answer that question "what do you guys really do", am sure even after reading the wiki page, it would be hard for outsider to understand what we actually do. Better edit that wiki link with answers everyone posted on this thread http://forums.cgarchitect.com/40845-have-trouble-explaining-your-job.html . Koper
Well there's already alot of people in the field....maybe instead of making it sound interesting, I should make it sound difficult and unrewarding. sneaky, i were sinking the same thing. i think the description next to the cga link should be in the line of "Online magazine and community for computer generated visualizations"
Crazy Homeless Guy
i think the description next to the cga link should be in the line of "Online magazine and community for computer generated visualizations" That's the beauty. Go in and change it.

Iain Denby
Also known as photo-real renderings, complex 3d modeling and rendering software is used to create life-like images. Really? Architectural 3D models are to the right proportion, scale No. If you want to make them the wrong proportion and scale, you can do. Wikipedia...don't you just love it.
