Andrew1
I just just have a simple question, I am running right now 1.5 sp4a, I want to upgrade to the newest 1.5 sp5... do I need to remove the sp4a and then install the sp5 or just run the sp5 on top of sp4a? also am I gonna have to mess with the dongle registration over again ??? I remember last time it was nothing but pain lol, well maybe not so bad I'm just vray impatient thanks for any replies Andrew
Sketchrender
I just downloaded and hit run. I am almost certain it installs it for you. I had to download twice as it would not installs the first time. the dongle upgrade is all automatic in the installer. philI just just have a simple question, I am running right now 1.5 sp4a, I want to upgrade to the newest 1.5 sp5... do I need to remove the sp4a and then install the sp5 or just run the sp5 on top of sp4a? also am I gonna have to mess with the dongle registration over again ??? Jeff Mottle
When you run the installer it will automatically detect the old version and uninstall it before SP5 will be installed. One thing to be careful with is the install of the dongle drivers and license server. I had problems and had to completely uninstall the old drivers and reinstall V-Ray and the dongle drivers and license server again. If I recall reading correctly they made some changes to the drivers with this releases.

Jeff Mottle
You should not have to do anything with your dongle again. You just need to ensure you have the right dongle drivers installed.
Andrew1
thanks Jeff for the reply, you're right , after I reinstalled the dongle and got it running there was a file called floating vray license I ran that and vray started working, I remember before I had to log into the dongle port 30304 or something like that , this time I was not able to loginto dongle, I thought I had to again generate the file, send that to them and wait for the new file e-mailed back to me from chaos, however this time it was very simple as it should be... Now Im vray happy , and back at work., thanks again Andrew.
