TrondGreve
According to Norwegian copyright laws, you can freely photograph people in public domain and use them in your visualisations providing that they are not the main focus in your image and does not make up more than 10% of your canvas. This is without asking for consent..... however, I sometimes get the feeling that I am in an ethical greyzone..... How is the copyright laws in your country regarding this "problem"? How do you solve the "problem"? Even when buying professional collections I have this vague feeling that some of the companies have not asked for permission from the people in the collection..... Do you ask people for consent?
Frosty
Trond, its a little bit different here in North America - at least in Canada. Its my understanding that you are free to photograph anyone/anything as long as you are outside and on public property. You are NOT allowed to take photos of other people indoors (shopping mall/bar/restaurant) or on private property without prior consent. Recent privacy/copyright/terrorism acts may have changed some of this but I don't think so. Public buildings such as courthouses, elementary schools and government buildings are obviously no shoot zones. I would also stay very clear of children's playground and beaches. TrondGreve
I once went to a shopping mall to photograph people from above in "indoor lighting". After ten minutes two security guards came running and wanted to snach my memory card. They made me delete the images before I could leave...but I faked it hehe
