gazbo
Hi all, I'm having problems with an ArchiCAD model that I need to texture in Max. When I import it the scale is out by a factor of 1000. No problem I thought, grab the lot and scale it up, trouble is when I do that and then try to apply materials with real world scale they're too small by a factor of 1000. I tried going to Heirarchy-Adjust Transform-Reset Scale for all of the objects but it doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas? I know I can adjust the real world scale values of all my materials but it's a bit of a hassle and it seems to be affecting procedural maps as well for default A&D materials, like brushed metal. -MerlyN-
Have you checked, that your system unit setup is correct?
gazbo
Yeah units are setup to mm which is what I want, and I've scaled up the imported model by 1000 so the it's the correct size in mm.
Ricardo Eloy
Geometries keep their scale information, which affects the mapping. You must apply a Reset XForm in order to get that information reseted and only then apply the mapping coords.
BrianKitts
Regardless of what your units are in 3dsmax (even if you're working in inches, not cm....) ALWAYS export from archicad with the drawing unit set to 1000mm. Then everything will come in properly scaled to 3dsmax. Scaling x 1000 and resetting the Xform (as Rick mentioned) would fix the problem, but it's a lot easier just to come in at scale.
gazbo
Cheers Rick, I've not used Xform before so I'll have a read up on that. Thanks Brian, I'll certainly remember that one for future reference, I've never used ArchiCAD before and it's someone else's model.
