Uneven but tangent bezier handles

Is there a way to make bezier handle manipulation only change the length of one side but without breaking the tangent?

 

I can make the vert a bez corner, get it close then set to bezier (not a corner) and create an asymmetric handle but manipulation still insists that if I make one side smaller I must want to make the other side smaller. Very often I do not want to do this. I think the Adobe behaviour is what I want. Can I do this?

I can't remember exactly, and I am sure there is an easier way... I usually switch the vertex to smooth, and then back to bezier. Then you should have even handles.

So I just checked... It seems there is a reset tangent directly under the smooth tangent. Try right clicking on the selected vertex and ticking that.

Thanks, Travis. But... I'm not explaining myself well.

 

I want them uneven lengths. I want them tangent. I don't want left side to resize with right side.

Perhaps I read to fast. I am pretty sure that has never happened before.

 

So, the only way I can figure out, or get close to figuring out what you want is to constantly flip back and forth between bezier corner and bezier. It might be fast if the were shortcut keyable but I don't know if that is possible.
