Thablanch
Install 3dsMax on every machine, no need to licence them, as they are renderslaves. When you install 3dsMax, the Backburner install comes with it,. in the install itself. Backburner installs 3 things, server, manager, monitor... Manager.. you open this on 1 machine, I tend to install this on the machine that shuts down the less... this is the dispatcher for the jobs.. when you launch it, a dialog box will pop up.. Values in there are usually good... Server... that is the worker, working for the dispatcher, refered to as you open that on every machine you wish to get to render for you.. This will auto-search for the manager, and hopefully find it.... Monitor, gives you status of all the sent jobs from Max.. So, install Max everywhere, launch Manager on one machine and server on every machine.. and you are ready to go. When you are rendering ( F10) in the common tab, near the botom, there is a tick box called net render ( under the render output rollout) click that and Max will use network rendering instead of local machine rendering.. That's about the basics.... hope it helps
