maxkid
hi guys, I rendered images jpg format from 3dmax about 5,000 frames using backburner ( network ) when i import them in after effects it gives the message 39:44 frames missing ,this does not mean frame 39 or 44, it is an error message , is there a way to find out which are the frames not rendered in after efx or any utility ,if i go through explorer it takes far more time , eveytime i have to render an avi to find which frames are again and then render the avi once i know which frames are missing from the avi......... darshan
STRAT
why dont you just thumb-nail browse the image directory in Explorer or paintshop pro? that should tell you the missing frames.
John Dollus
Another tip would be to open your directory and resize the window so only 10 files or so show up in each column. By just scanning across the bottom, the odd numbers will stand out.
Crazy Homeless Guy
i've ran into this problem several times before. what software are you using? several have options in the rendering dialog that say something like 'don't re-render existing frames' or 'skip existing frames', or somehting along those lines. sheck this, and your app should find the missing frame without a problem. although in the past i looked for a utility to do this, i never found one, but i am interested in one if someone else has. http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/showthread.php?t=5487 . pmanahan
I have had the same problem before and the way I solve it is to load the batch images into after effects and save out as a movie. The rendering process will stop on the missing frame or it will render a color bar image in it's place which shows up when you play the movie. pmanahan
