What I can see is that the sun is hitting the front of the building and thus washing it out a lot. Depending on the effect you want to create, you might want to put the sun towards the side of the building, still have some sunlight hit it but not so strong. I have started putting a skyportal on the other side of the sun hitting the building to add some light to the building and seems to work fine. Then photoshop to create a more realistic scene. U want to put some reflection on the windows so you would need to put something behind your camera for it to reflect. Otherwise, the rendering in itself is not bad, I just would do the above to give it a different feeling. Oh, and add some grunge (in the bump slot) to the wall to make it more real.

Hi Stan,

Its a really contrasty image, I find your loosing some of the details, like the front door.

The wall on the left with the brown render, its hard to define the corner.

The bushes in the middle I'd mirror some of them and randomly scale them slightly, to try and stop them looking like clones.

cheers

hey Macker,

totally agree about the people - i havent been able to find any in my library that match the lighting :( .. will keep looking

i'm using mental ray sun and sky, gamma 2.2 workflow

the image is rendered out with psd manager and then the sky is brought in photoshop .. - then i apply image effects there

hope you dont mind but I had a quick play in Photoshop, Basically did a levels , raised the mid and highlights. A Selective colour and sucked some black out of the blues and Cyans

The people are also too big, see mark up for a suggested height.

Are you working on a very bright monitor?
