blotchy fascia and eaves

rendered image size is too small to check anything wrong with the image, can you attach a bigger image?

dmc max subd is set too high, use 2min to 5 max. though i dont think it is causing the blotches. as i said attach a larger image only then one can tell.

Here is a larger image. I have a green grass surface on the ground which appears to be reflecting up into the soffit, fascia and eaves but i would like to have it smoother.

Also the iron roofing looses its profile on the side, i'm guessing this is an anti-aliasing issue but not sure what values to change.

Thanks for looking into this for me.

Cheers.

i think you are not getting enough light sample, one of the many causes behind splotches in vray is low light, with low light you need high no. of samples. so go to settings> dmc sampler > min sample and increase it to 32. and tell me if you still get splotches.

please prov a full render of your scene for analysis. those tiny fractions just arent enough. Also as a start set your primary bounce irradiance map to custom, min rate -5, max rate -3, hsph subdivs to 20, secondary bounce to light cache with 250 samples, and image sampler to dmc with min 1 max 6.

I've pumped the Adaptive DMC Image Sampler's max subdivs to 32 and it appears to have cleared the blotches up.

I am using a HDRI in the GI Evironment (skylight) override slot. Will the blotchyness reduce once i place a vray light into my scene with sufficient samples?

Thanks everyone for your comments.
