Ernest Burden III
any recomandation I really wnna be nice to my fingers I,m using logictech 3 button mouse witch,s good but it,s realy getting old There WERE at least two Logitech 3-button mice, one more boxy and the other more rounded, the buttons low-riding. I recently clicked the boxy one to death (it was my favorite mouse) and am now using the back-up one, which had been with my laptop. No biggie, just buy more---but there doesn't appear to BE any more logitech mice like these. I started with retailers, and then went to logitech's own site, no regular 3-button mice! I am not feeling good about this, I use the middle button a lot (it does snaps in Datacad). So I join in this question of where to get good, comfortable 3 button mice? Frosty
Ernest, my MS Explorer is about to pass on to mousey heaven. I've been clicking it for almost 4 years. Its the 4 button version (5 with wheel) and I would buy it again in a second.

Ernest Burden III
Logitec Ms 700 cordless/re-chargable mouse... I'll look into that. All I want is a standard three-button mouse, no scroll, not four buttons, or eight (rememebr pucks?)... "bloody lovely" An interesting phrase. Anybody see a three-button mouse there? For that matter, does anybody see anything that resembles a mouse? I see razors, a few first-year auto-designers' work, even a few that resemble personal gratification devices. Where's the mice? My computer illustrator sister describes this as trying to draw with a bar of soap. But she's a Mac-head, so that's like typing with one finger. Sure, I have a tablet, on the left. I just want a good, comfy, three-button mouse on the right to be a happy-ish computer-guy-person.
xgarcia
I've found the scrool wheel / middle button on the Microsoft Optical Explorer works fine for me. I use the scrool wheel for zooming and browsing, and the middle button push down for lots of other stuff (one of the most important is Zoom Extents in AutoCAD - use it like 200 times a day). I'm pretty comfortable on this mouse and it only cost $39.99 US at most stores (Best Buy or Wal-Mart). Plus it's optical.

Oh, no, a scroll wheel is a MUST for quick, instinctive panning and zooming in your 3D prgram.
Jonny English
I came across the 'Whale' mouse recently and am considering buying one. It is manufactured by a company called Humanscale who are specialists in Ergonomics (i.e. that is their speciality, not your typical company that sells many products). They also sell other 'ergonomic' products, such as chairs, lights, back rests. I think for people like us who spend the whole day clicking away we really need to look after our fingers, posture etc... hope you all find this useful. http://www.humanscale.com/products/whale_mouse.cfm http://www.humanscale.com/
Greg Hess
My fav mouse is the second gen microsoft intellimouse explorer. The one with the slightly nicer tinge of fake alumnium, and with 3.0a stamped on the bottom of it. I generally find its not a good idea to spend too much $$$ on a mouse, as I tend to destroy them in about a year. But now microsoft has a 3rd or 4th gen intellimouse explorer which sucks.. Guess I should go buy a bunch of the old ones and hoard them, then sell on ebay for 500 each .
