Dave Buckley
basically i'm looking for something where i can specify a location/habitat such as 'dry, dusty, hot' and have it feed back to me what types of tree would grow in that environment. for example i don't want to put something that grows next to an expanse of water, into a desert scenario. does anyone know of such references, i know that xfrog have pdf's of all their trees and respective living conditions but downloading each pdf is a bit of a nightmare
luckyluc
Why don't you buy a nice book about trees. I use it to look up which trees look like each other, how high they can be etc. The rest you can maybe search on wikipedia. I would place more broadleaftrees in north-american and european pictures, when it gets colder more conifer-like trees, and warmer more palmes, olives trees. Unless you client is a landscaper he will not see the differerence. A palmtree would be good in a hot environment. as long as it gets some water once in a while. Good luck
