Howdy,

I live in Dallas and I graduated from Texas A&M with a BED in '97. While I didn't go to either of the schools you were accepted to, I can tell you my perception of them. I work in a large architectural firm and I'd say 60-70% of the office are from Texas schools. We have a lot of Aggies, some Texas Tech, a few UT. But I don't think that we have any from Baylor. Texas Tech has a good reputation as a technical shool, UT is artsy, and A&M is in the middle.

So after all that, I guess my point is that TT has a good reputation and Baylor doesn't even have a reputation. I'm not saying Baylor is a bad school, I've known several people who were very happy there. But I can say that TT is a good school. The only problem with TT seems to be living in Lubbock. You either love it or you hate it.

Of course, A&M would have been the best choice.

Hope this helps and good luck.

As a graduate of A&M myself, I agree with a lot of what CRD said. Lubbock would be a great place to live if you were a cow...haha..just kidding. Seriously, between the two I would recommend TT also if only because A&M is not a choice. What are your plans/goals after graduation. Do you want to become an architect or work in graphics or both? Good luck with your studies! :D

thanks for the replies...Thats exactly what i was thinking, as for my plans i dont know yet but i'm sure i'll decide while going through the college experience. From what I heard, lubbock might not having any attractions but they have a lot of hot women there....hahaha...I would have gone to A&M had i applied but it never crossed my even though i live in Jersey Village (outskirts of houston, off 290)...The only reason i thought of Baylor is because my mom and dad are freaks over Baylor...But it seems that im off to LUBBOCK...thanx again guys

You could be making a BIG mistake. Baylor is not an NAAB accredited architecture program. Texas Tech, on the other hand, does offer a M. Arch. degree that is accredited. This could really impact your career! Of course Texas A&M has a high reputation for it's M. Arch. program - Can't go wrong there.
