nimadv
Hi all, sorry for language :/ I'm Architect and 3d user since 3DStudioR3 for Dos, But I'm totally disappointed with Autodesk policies and latest 3dsmax updates... Truth is... I can't trust 3dsmax 2010/2011 for production, and please don't blame my settings, I have very expensive workstation and I have all qualified hardware's with latest drivers! Dear ken, I know you work hard on XBR, but I can't wait for another 10 years to have something usable and stable, life is too short for XBR, I can't be your Beta-tester for 10 years, because I have so many clients out there, I have 48 Hours to deadline and 3dsmax constantly crashed, and it takes 20 seconds to run again, and this happened again and again and again!! I don't need integrated polyboost, I don't need modern Interface, I don't need CAT or Quicksilver or viewport canvas or blah blah blah... I want STABILITY and SECURITY! This is annoying to keep using old 3dsmax versions due to stability! Now I HAVE TO switch to C4D+VRAY+MODO combination to done the job! I'm not satisfied with viewport performance/quality of C4D, but STABILITY is more important to me, I can't deal with instability at middle of the project! Thanks all, now I feel better
Crazy Homeless Guy
My Max2010 has been fairly stable with only the usual crashes. Meaning, every 3d program crashes, and Max2010 has crashed no more than any of the others I have used. Perhaps you have bad geometry, or a corrupt 3dsMax.ini? kareemkarawia
i faced some problems with 3ds max 2010 when using Vray with it .... it's Piece of crap .... but other than that max 2010 is ordinary 3ds max with some crashes and bugs ... it's usual for any 3d application

Sketchrender
If you run max under a 64 bit system the difference is big trust me.
Stan Zaslavsky
max 2010 Sp1 was more stable than max 2011 ... the steering wheels on max11 after a while start leaving traces on the screen .. so it does require a restart every now and then .. but i think the benefit of a faster renderer and the graphite toolbar is worth it to go max11 just my 2c worth and certainly a 64bit machine is a must! I would be very interested in hearing how I get on in cinema 4d . the layer system drove me mad and the modeling is strange to use.
kenpimentel
Nimadev, Who is your reseller? They are obligated to give you support. Can you tell me who they are and then I can follow up with them? It is very difficult to sort out the problems caused by hw/os/gpu/driver issues and those that are flaws in 3ds Max. We publish a list of tested hw/driver combinations but people rarely follow it - but then they run into problems like you have. You do not give any useful information to address your problems, so it seems more of a complaint than a serious attempt to get help. ken
