mattclinch
hi guys, this is really annoying me. i have seen - im pretty sure on here - a huge .txt file list of specific conversion values for non-fullframe digital cameras. you know, the whole 1.6x thing, but listing almost every available camera model. i used to have it, and used it all the time. does anyone know where it is? or have it themselves? JamesL
I've seen that very list - and have a printed version...but don't know where it came from... Did a quick scout and the best thing I could find for now is http://www.ulead.com/pex/zoomlens.htm - although the original txt list is much longer! mattclinch
if you are camera matching a photo and the exif data on the photo shows it was taken on a 28mm lens, unless it is a full frame camera the actual focal length will be higher (and therefore the FOV lower) as the frame is cropped. this list gives the specific multipliers to find out what focal length to use. Canon EOS 20D @ 28mm lens actually gives an image with an effective focal length of 28 x 1.6 = 44.8mm. http://www.dpreview.com/learn/?/key=focal_length_multiplier Edited July 8, 2010 by mattclinch
