Dave Buckley
is it possible to have a wmv file or similar movie format that can be played from windows media player, with chapters. essentiallty what a dvd does but as a movie file. its a recorded web session that i want to split into chapters, i was hoping that when the person clicks on the final movie file, it would play a couple of screens, and then would reach another screen with chapter selections, where they can click on each chapter (in media player) and it would take them to the right point in time in the video. is this possible? i have access to premiere/afx/encore cs5. i know it can be done for dvd's in encore becuase i did it ages ago at uni, but i'm sure the output is video ts and audio ts folders? any ideas? Crazy Homeless Guy
I haven't heard of anything that would work directly within Media Player sans viewing a DVD menu within the player which would require a DVD codec to already be installed on the viewers system. I know I used a DVD codec from nVidia in this fashion in the past. The problem is that this solution would only be exceptable in a controlled environment where you knew what the laptops had installed ahead of time. Alternately, I think you would need to go with Flash for a solution like this. Acrobat might be able to make something that is exceptable, but I still have problems believing that its capabilities for something like this would be exceptable. Director would be another solution also.
