Playdo
I came across a nice little technique the other day. I thought it was on this forum but I can't find it. I can't remember the specifics exactly but here goes... It was a way to take a spline and extrude it and add chamfers but without converting it to an editable poly. I think the chamfering was a feature within the modifier. I can't remember if it was extruded, shelled, lofted or whatever. I think the example was on a staircase. Sorry for the vagueness. Anyone know what I mean ?
jinsley
did they just use the edit poly modifier? so that they would still be able to keep their spline? might check this site out... http://designreform.net/category/tutorials/tutorials-3dsmax-modifiers/
Peter M. Gruhn
Sounds like the Bevel modifier.
