datacrasher
darshit You wont find every single tutorial online sometimes It's just trial and error. Max is only a CG program like most CG programs you won't always get the results your always looking for like in the real world
datacrasher
i found this tutorial of a waterfall look at the Tim Wilbers answers he show you how to do a water fall like what you have but it won't be the same as what you want http://www.turbosquid.com/Forum/Index.cfm/stgAct/PostList/intThreadID/29453
djoshi
My friend, With max you can get results like this. I have seen many animations with such water effects. I have done & doing trials & errors on it. But not getting desired effect. There are many animation gurus on this website, might suggest something which can give a best touch to animation. Life is a learning curve..so keep thinking - keep asking - keep learning...!! Apart from this off topic discussion..Pls. if someone can share something.. djoshi
I have already got such animation..the only problem is it looks like heavy white waterfall it should look like calm transparent waterflow.

nelpiper
simple PFlow+blob mesh modifier and a nice water shader would do it very nicely. Good luck.
djoshi
Can you brief a little on it Nel? I am very much new to PFlow & all. I have attached image of what I am getting using snow+gravity+Deflector etc. If I am using vray water texture on it, it boosts render time very high. I have tried blobmesh on it but it is getting very heavy...
Frosty
There is a saying in Canada. K.I.S.S. - Keep It Simple Stupid. Why mess with particles? Use a nurb plane with an animated texture (stretched animated noise) in the opacity and displacement. Then use another where the cascade hits the body of water. MAYBE use some particles for the splashes and mist as the cascade collides. Old school, but it works.
