ABK Posted July 12, 2010 Share Posted July 12, 2010 Hi all, I'm looking for some advice on animating a camera in 3DS max for an interior flythro of a building. In the past i've always created movies by animating a camera along a path and adjusting the fcurve. I've used both free cameras and target cameras to get reasonable results. Both with pros and cons. However, as I am producing more complex camera paths I'm finding that animating along a curve (by percentage) is inhibiting me from creating nice smooth movies. Tommy L Posted July 12, 2010 Share Posted July 12, 2010 Depends very much on the feeling you are trying to get. I would advise changing the depault bezier mode to linear before doing any auto-keys. Also, if you want any kind of added natural motion, like shake, do it in post (render slightly bigger than your frame if you want to do this). datacrasher Posted July 12, 2010 Share Posted July 12, 2010 Antony Before you do this i would go to views menu and save active p.view and then start your walkthrough. Why don't you just press CTRL & C to create a camera from the p.view switch on the auto-key and use the arrow without numbers to move back and foward left and right? when use the walkthrough max will automatically create the keys when your finished switch off the auto-key. when your finished go back to views and select restore active p.view. when your view is restored then you can save your scene if you like the way you animated the walkthrough? if you don't do this then you will save your scene in the walkthrough then you will have to reposition your view again.
