3DSMax 2010 importing problem

Hey, first post

I'm trying to import dwg's into 3ds max 2010, its been working fine and mysteriously its started ignoring the coordinate system, everything i import is vacuumed to 0,0,0 and is often rotated on a wrong axis. Max becomes practically useless if i cant fix this and i need to use it now at work. I model all the 3d stuff in cad and import to studio for animation and rendering.

Every object in the scene is handled separately and put at 0,0,0 instead of max reading the coordinate of that object in the world.

Legacy dwg importing works better, but still screws things up often, sometimes even scale. Ive tried saving dwgs as different year formats, still nothing.

Is there a toggle or something regarding this? Can I call autodesk about it? I need some solutions asap.

Thanks,

Lane

This a problem you will always have , and more so in the future, as all drawings are going to be at their real coordinates.

I generally get Microstation drawings.

out in the arse end of nowhere and the further out they are from 0,0,0 the more screwed up they are.

So either use file ref or move the original file back to 0,0,0 in Autocad or MS.

Pain I know but Max developers say it's not their problem.
