Guest FlaviusC
Hello there, This is my latest project... and the final one. It's a penthouse, and this is the living room ( next I'll do the bedroom, and kitchen, probably bathroom too)... Latest, and probably last.I will push my skills to the maximum and hopefully I'll be noticed with this project... If not,it means arch viz is not for me and after 4 years of trying to become really good,I should quit. So,please...ant kind of criticism is really welcomed... The sofa is this one http://flaviuscristea.com/non-wp/images/couch.png ,which I've modeled a few days ago. However, probably due to the "medium" Irr map settings the bumps from the leather have been washed out. The render settings were quite high, but maybe I should try Brute Force as primary engine. Next I would like to add some curtains.. Best of luck, Flavius

Jason Matthews
Very nice. Second image has a better feeling than the first. The rug is very nice. Can you share your settings on for the leather and rug?
guiltybydesign
yeah, vray fur settings would be helpful, share them please
Guest FlaviusC
I haven't used V-ray fur since it's quite an old feature in Vray and i couldn't get realistic results with it.There are fewer options compared to Max's hair and fur modifier. And since V-ray sp4 i think, vray is able to render hair and fur ( set the fur option to mr prim ). And I've only played with hair styling and did quite a few renders for it. For the couch, I've used 6 different displacement maps ( photos of leather blurred heavily in photshop ) and that leather bump map which you can find anywhere on the internet,as a bump map. Reflection value to a dark grey, and ward as brdf. Glossiness set to 0,75 or so. i'm sorry,i can't give you the exact details since I'm not at home at the moment, but what i said is quite accurate. However,I'm going to write a tutorial about the sofa and I'm going to post the link here. The final product should look as my studio rendering of the sofa " http://www.flaviuscristea.com/non-wp/images/couch.png " Thank you for your replies, Flavius
