max 2011 bugs?

hi all a couple of quick questions re max 2011 -

 

the viewport flashes white when snapping is on, this gets very annoying

 

the match texture size checkbox in driver settings keeps turning itself off when rebooting max.

 

both seem to only happen with windows 7.

 

any thoughts?

i've got the same problem with snapping on windows 7 64-bit.

I have issues with Max 2011 not wanting to exit. It is also very very slow to load. It doesn't seem to be hanging up loading a plugin or anything - it finishes loading all that stuff and then sits there just long enough to annoy me. Also, the Graphite Tool panel tends to get corrupted.

The video drive issues are solved by running max as administrator when setting them.

I have the same flashing screen issue. I thought it was my vidoe card.

 

One the administrator front. there are a few instances where you need administrator rights for some ptools to work. The major one for me is when I use the bitmap and photomeric paths tool to repath and copy maps from one location to another. As a gernerral rule I now run max in administrator mode all the time.

Fran, I have the same problem with Max hanging on exit. I've gotten in the habit of doing a File RESET then exiting Max to avoid corrupting the file I'm working on.

 

Graphite Tools! They haven't worked for me since Day 1, even with the workaround. I had totally forgotten they were there.

We've had a few instances where max11 creates or duplicates a sun light upon opening an existing file. Anyone else run into this?
