mvo
Hello people! I am new to the group and I am an avid ADT3.3 user. My problem is to harness MAX's capability in rendering by importing from ADT. So far, I am not successful because all my AEC's appear in Max as 2d drawings, inspite following recommendation on unifying thing option. Please help
Fernando Lino
I usually do is create one object for the frames and another object for the glasses....turning on/off the sublayers thru entity display...after that _aecmasselement command (convert). It works fine for me!!! Good Luck!!!! MVO..you do need to export the model in 3dview....select any isometric view first, after that you'll be able to export it to max. mvo
Fernando, I don't really quite get it. Do you do all these in ADT first? then, save it? Open the max program, then import it? Sorry, I am not very familiar with these commands. Thanks. I'l try to do that.
fatNjazzy
Ok, Fernando Lino i didnt get u, i want to note that im creating the windows in ADT and then i see them in max. if i try to convert them to mass they are disappearing and if not, i lose the holes in the walls (that was created for the windows). i dont want to build them directly in mass because i need them in the drawing as an architectural objects. i hope there is a normal way to do that. thank u
mvo
Fernando, I've done what you recommended but the whole thing becomes one object and that would be very difficult to handle in max. What I did in ADT was explode my aec walls, but this is at the expense of my windows and doors because I loose them. The holes are there though. Like I said, I did this by importing it as .dwg file in my max. Any tricks to make this thing work? I prefer modelling in adt and hope it would be easy to handle it when I reach max. I am not quite comfortable using the adt2004 features and bringing it to viz since the gui in that program is very limited, like materials and other plug-ins. Anyone please! Fernando Lino
I usually have two files...one the ADT file with AEC objects and second one with AEC objects, solids and windows frames, glasses, etc...every single material separated in layers....ready to be linked or exported. My email is flino@earthlink.net ...if you want you can send to me a email and I'll replay it with an example.
