videep
Hello Everyone, I have been trying to render out an interior scene with vray1.5 sp4 and max 2009. recently I added a skirting on the ceiling and when rendered, found out that the lines are not visible properly. Also, I have made a cross-section in splines and used a loft to cover the whole room. I used the settings attached in the image files. I used interpolation samples to 30 and hsp 50 but did not get the right result and cranked them high but the result is blurred. Also, I then used brute force, with 40subdivs. rendering time first was 4.5 mins which went to 30mins. Please suggest me what to do to get the skirting right. Thank You Videep

videep
Hi Maxer, The AA Settings: AA=1 NoiseThreshold=.005 Min smaples = 5 Gloal subdivs mult=1 Time-independent = checked. My lights already have the subdivs cranked up to 20 and the render comes out noiseless only problem comes with is the skirting.
stormchaser
well turn on detail enhancement in ir map setting, and try another filter instead of "Area", you can use catmull, kindly post the result, id like to see if it improves the visibility of skirting regards
-MerlyN-
Try these custom settings for IR: Min -6, Max -1, Clr Thres and Nrm Thres .2. Also, whats your light setup?
