6 Degrees
Hi Everyone, We just finished these 2 images and wanted some feedback from everyone before we send the finals to the client. Please critique these. We have been trying a few new things for exteriors and this is the result using autocad and 3d studio viz. Thanks The guys at I-maginethis.com The images are at: http://www.i-maginethis.com/House/Front1.jpg http://www.i-maginethis.com/House/Back1.jpg
Buffalo Bills
Modeling seems to be good. You need to work on the lighting and textures. Looks a little flat. The problem I see with the light source is that on the 1st images the sun is coming from the right hand side. so if that is the case then the bumpouts on the house should not be dark at all. Same with image #2 with the sun coming from the opposite direction. The textures tile to much. you can see a good bit of tiling going on. But all in all good start. I would probably rotate the sun on both images to the opposite of what you have now so it reads better. What version of Viz are you using. It looks like version 3. Good luck! 6 Degrees
Hey Buffalo Bills, Thanks for the critique. You are right about the brick tiling. Do you know of a way to get the map to texture without having it repeat such as it is. This has always been a bit of an issue, so if we can fix it that would be great. Thanks again for the critiques. 6 Degrees
Buffalo Bills
No Problem. Sorry it took me a while to respond back. This website is very helpful and it has a lot of professionals willing to give advice. The tiling that really needs attention is the roof. But for anything that you use for mapping that you know could possibly have a major tiling effect I usually go into photoshop and create a large size map so the tiling will be less noticable if at all. I know this is one way of doing it. I'm sure there are others out there that could tell you other ways that might be simpler or easier to do, but this is the way I've always done it and I have never really had any issues with it. But you could also search the forums within this site that might help you in minimizing your tiling effect. This website is very helpful. I've been on it for a couple of years now and I can see alot of improvement in my work from suggestions and tips others have here. But enough for now. I hope this answer your question. Keep going! Would like to see results of any changes you might do to this particular project. Good luck. P.S. Here is a website I use that gives you a range of brick styles and samples that have very minimal tiling results. Take a look at it. You have to download the software from the site but it does comes in handy, when you don't have the time to create maps for bricks. Good luck! http://www.acmebrick.com/md/index.htm
