3DSDan
I’m currently considering outsourcing only the actual rendering for a current project to a remote render farm service. In my search for a remote rendering service I haven’t been able to find any reviews. I’d be very interested to hear your experiences with any of the available remote render farm services in terms of their: 1) Ease of use 2) Cost 3) Speed 4) Reliability Dan
ivanjay
Check out rebusfarm. I use both them and renderrocket. I find rebusfarm to be inexpensive, VERY easy to use, and so fast. Render rocket is good too. However, if it is a bit slower, more expensive, and requires scripts to be entered into their web site once you upload a file to set gamma and a few other settings. It is easy so do not be intimidated, but it is another step to remember.
BrianKitts
I used to use Respower.com a lot when I was freelancing..... it's the best route you can go for rendering on the cheap end. $250 gets you a 24 hour pass to their farm. You share the farm with others using the service, but at any time I was averaging usage of about 15-20 nodes. Interface is pretty dated, but works and is reliable. Once done you have the ability to ZIP or RAR all your files together remotely on their end to speedup the download to pull your files once completed. Tim Nelson
I've only used Respower and share similar thoughts to Brian. I just got an email from them though saying they have recently added a bunch of dual quad core xeons to the farm, and an upgraded network so that will probably be a huge help in getting your frames faster. That, and their customer service is fantastic. BTW, you can get 14 days for $500 at Respower, a great deal.
