BVI
In January I posted about a new site that we created in Flash entirely. I love flash, but on close review of our site visits it became obvious (after 7 months) that only half the people visiting had flash installed. In fact, the biggest click away rate was to download flash. We also wanted to have nice large images to show the detail of the 3Ds in all their glory. With the amazing jquery development thats taken place we can get the same effect with good old html so here it is: http://www.burn.co.za/ It still needs more content, but thats as it is now. Here are some resolution stats: Greater than 584 100% Greater than 744 99% Greater than 968 94% Greater than 1096 74% Greater than 1344 41% Greater than 1384 27% Greater than 1544 18% Greater than 1624 15% Greater than 1824 7% So At least 1024x768 seems to be the norm for screen size. Let me know - Nic! Nic
Koper
Smoooth Nic, very smooth, I like it much more than the flash one you guys had. And also, wow, what an opening image, is that the building across from centurion cricket grounds? I love that design. Don't make the images larger than 1024, if you want to show detail do some crop(blow-up) layout design of the images. Nice
BVI
Thanks Adriaan Yeah, thats the right building. It will be done in 2 months or so - it looks even more amazing up close.

abmitalia
Yes - great Nicolas. I like the new website. Fast, clear and easy to handle. And great renders in it - but we know that allready. RK
BVI
Again, thanks all for the kind words. I know all the big guys, Spine, Neoscape, Dbox, Pure, Hayes etc all have 100% flash sites, so I'd be interested to know if they have seen a decrease in click throughs since going totally flash? The authoring tools for flash like SSP Director make flash very appealing - HTML5 can apparently do a ton of flash related tricks as well. Time will tell... abmitalia
It ever depends what you have in mind. Spin, Pure etc with their homepage built up a luxury visit card. But they are just well known out there and so they don't mind beeing visibile to a large pubblic or by the search machines like Google etc. . The statistic of the professionals regarding the resolution and power of their computer is well different from people travelling around for kind of hobby. I guess for growing up professionally HTLM5 is the best solution - than you can go for everything else you want to. RK
