BrianKitts
In case anyone hasn't seen the Levi's ad (Man Walking Across America) it's gone pretty viral over the net, check it out..... also there's now a behind the scene's video showing the method they used to capture the video. First time I watched it I was dead set that there was some post production trickery going on, alas I was wrong! http://gizmodo.com/5596540/how-a-dslr-protractor-and-tape-measure-filmed-one-man-walking-america
Crazy Homeless Guy
Nice, I hadn't seen that one yet. They didn't even spend $5 for plumb bob, it looks like they attached a water bottle to the end of a string. The current set of Old Spice commercials are all done in one shot, no cg... Not to mention the Ok Go Gold Rubergesque video that was done in one shot too, no cg.... which is pretty cool.
-MerlyN-
I think the development and direction of these clips and the audience response are remarkable. Considering, that 10-15 years ago it was quite the opposite. Commercials and movies were still shot without a lot of cg and mindwriggling postproduction work, and the few that incorporated the new technologies won awards and made everyone speechless. Now a bunch of guys take their camera and produce a video the majority would not believe possible without all the cg stuff. Makes me wonder, how things will further develop in the next few years.
