Jeff Mottle
Just discovered an interesting problem. I have an ASUS Workstation Revolution motherboard with dual integrated Gigabit NICs. For some reason I was noticing a HUGE (5x) symmetrical slow down with my internet connection. When I switched the CAT5 to the second NIC port the speed was back to normal, but I could not figure out why the one I had been using for almost a year was so slow. Randomly I disconnected my iPhone which shows up as a network connection. As soon as I did this the speed back back to normal. Seems that there is some sort of conflict between the integrated NIC and the NIC on the iPhone. Anyway, thought I would pass this random bit of trivia on in case anyone else runs into this. AJLynn
Was your iPhone set up for tethering? I guess it just decided to use that instead of the real network connection...
Jeff Mottle
While I can do tethering it was disabled. I confirmed this problem with someone else and they had the exact same problem. No sure what it is that is causing the problem.
