Koper
It been released a day or so and already been downloaded 1,500+ times. Gonna give it a try just now but check the video http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/stone-placement-tools and the scripter's site - Alessandro Ardolino http://www.aardolino.com/home.html

Koper
Looks like a game changing script...incredible work from Alessandro. it does, but I had a computer crash within the first use of the script, and so did another colleague of mine. Will be interesting to see if this is true for other users. thus reply you're findings
hughie
Very nice script, takes a bit of processing power, but easily managed results similar to the video. I have not got as far as the texture baking, which I think will be essential for any larger scene I seem to have a scale problem, where it creates each block at 5mm. and was not resolved with empirical What would be nice is if the displacement procedural maps were instanced so it would be easy to change the pattern on the whole wall in one go rather than having to change each block individually I have a project coming up in a few weeks that I plan to use this for. I will follow up then

-MerlyN-
Very nice tool. Dangerous, though. It didnt crash my system, but it certainly did crash max very effectively when I curiously thrust up the iterations. Also it popped up several script error warnings. Something like type call or procedure unknown...
Malik1
Might come in handy. I ran some render tests with Maxwell and beyond adding 100Kpolys with a basic wall and jumping my ram up by 2gigs on a scene I think its pretty slick. Prolly work well with some close up renders. fyi you have to run the tools.mse and put the folder with the utilities in the scripts folder or you will get some errors. Thanks for sharing, M
