smithy_gas
Hi guys, first post although been using this forum for tips for a very long time now so thank you. I have basically been offered a job at a 3D visualisation practice and have been asked to complete a test scene first to submit. I am in the process with my basic knowledge of the software and getting on ok but have come unstuck slightly with creating a roof for the bay window (its a set house design). So if anybody could give me a simple way of creating this element I would appreciate it and potentially get the image up towards the end of the week if all goes well! Thanks. jophus14
What does the bay window look like? It would be easier to help you out if we knew the design or shape of the window.
smithy_gas
I can supply an image of the window and model in its current state without roof! It is a ground floor three faced bay window with pitch roof. Edited August 10, 2010 by smithy_gas
jophus14
You can draw three separate splines, attach them to one another and the then select the back/middle vertices and raise it up to form a peak. See attached. Let me know if this is what you are looking to do.
smithy_gas
That was indeed what I wanted to do. Seems so easy now you say that. In the end I used a cube and two pyramids to create the shape and then joined it together. See below for example and actual model completion now. Thanks. jophus14
Glad you figured it out. I can't wait to see the final product.
smithy_gas
Not the most exciting of houses for an architecture student but at least now I can personalise with material and surroundings and hope to get the job! Thanks for showing an interest.
smithy_gas
I have got through modelling and materials. I have completed some initial renders, and although I know this might not be the place for it any suggestions as to how I can improve it further before photoshop? Thanks.
