gorf
Hi guys, it seems my friend has some problems with his computer and he asked me to post the images... so , here they are we've been working during 4 days and this is what we have, dont pay much attention to composition artifacts, it's only a test, but we want to know what do you think, and how we can improve this image frame0: frame60: Thanks in advance. Ernest Burden III
Is the spraying water going to be a distraction? Overall, these look great. The random reflections of city images on the dome sections is odd--maybe that is what you meant by compositing problems? It is hard to know what your goal is, but I like the models, the lighting is good, though the water is fairly dark. Can you get some glow from the translucent domes into the water? In fact, the water looks pretty good. You probably don't have time for more tweeking. I see the compositing thing you mean--the grass-line at the back. Maybe other frames from later would help, but I'ld say you are doing just fine so far...
Scott Schroeder
Whats this for? I would suggest that the rest of the scene, ie the water and the ground have more light cast onto it. It's seems way too dark compared to the rest of the image. I like the water, esp the ripple effects around the fountain, that shows great attention to detail. Rock on. gorf
Hi Ernest Yes, The reflections look strange because of the map tiling, i'm fixing the problem. About the water you are not the first one to say that, so i think we have to brighten it up a bit, i'm doing a slightly blue cloudy sky as reflection map to solve that. We also have to glow the reflections in post production. yeah! the grass line are one of those "composition artifacts" i was talking about.. this is a very quick test and we made some mistakes with the matte objets .. but dont worry, the final renders will be ok Thanks for the critics
cHuSkE
Thanx for replys . This is the shot (the very little shot) http://www.gorf-portfolio.com/varios/preview.avi Elvis, dont you think adding brightness on terrain will distract the eye from the center of the image (spheres and water) ??? We´re are working on a little bright light around the border.Maybe you´re right .Will see next post.

Ernest Burden III
You move away from the center of interest, have you thought about the opposite--move in?
Buffalo Bills
Looks pretty interesting. I'm not sure what you are achieving but it is a good start. I do agree with everyone else about the water. Needs to be brightened up a little bit, especially around the domes as Ernest mentioned. I wish I could see your animation though. I don't have the right codec to view it. I hope you meet you deadline!

cHuSkE
..is this for a siggraph submission? No, this is not.Only for job. You move away from the center of interest, have you thought about the opposite--move in? mmm... But we think that camera will show too much from start and when the train begins to move and the fountains start flowing the camera would be too close and they cant be seen I do agree with everyone else about the water. Needs to be brightened up a little bit, especially around the domes as Ernest mentioned working on next post will have pics.
cHuSkE
well. (Odd bright on spheres are proyected movies) I would prefer a bit less of glow, but I think commercially is what customer is looking for, what do you think about? frame 0 frame
