Three D
Hi. Can anybody tell me how to adjust the colour of the shadows cast by individual objects. I'm doing a shadow study and I'd like to colour code shadows for eaves and ridges of roofs to see what shadows each are casting. I'm using a daylight system with VRaySun. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Edited August 17, 2010 by Three D
mu_688687
If you want to get different color shadow from different-2 object than adjust it from V-ray property color.
Three D
If you want to get different color shadow from different-2 object than adjust it from V-ray property color. Thanks but the shadow colour option in the Vray Object properties is only for mattes objects. I did try it and it didn't work.
JonRashid
You could use the include and exclude part of your light parameters. You might have to mess about with the objects receiving the shadows to ensure they are not flooded out by all the lights you use. You then modify the shadow colour of each individual light. BrianKitts
I would apply a VrayOverrideMtl to each object's material and put colored glass in the shadow override slot..... then just give each material a different refraction color to create your color coded shadows. Crazy Homeless Guy
Good solution Brian. The immediate thing that came to mind for me requires a two pass rendering setup utilizing the VrayMatteShadow render element, and controlling what can cast shadows. Three D
Thanks for all the help guys. The VrayOverrideMtl seems like the quickest method for me needs but I'll mess around with both options.
