keebler
I am currently working on a Brick case study for an apartment project which brings up the question. What is the easiest way to prevent brick tiling? I am already using a fairly large image sample. I guess the problem is that there is a lot of brick surface shown at a small scale thus making the tiling more noticeable. Is there any way to prevent this? JonRashid
Use the brick/tile material in max. You can set variance and fade colours so that there is no repeat and you can make subtle changes to these variables so all the bricks are not quite the same. You can even apply a texture map to brick and mortar slots to add noise etc
JonRashid
Another option is to render just the wall with repeating texture at a very high res. Take this picture into photoshop and doctor the repeat. Then paste that doctored hi res brick texture back onto your original object.
keebler
Thanks! I think the second option is better for the current brick selection because it is highly textured with a range of color on each brick. I do like the brick and tile material in max which I can use for the more standard bricks. Thanks again for the help
gwb90
check the web for this "Masonry Designer - Acme Brick" its a small app that allows you to custom a brick texture and export as a tiff or jpeg and also export joints separate for creating a specular texture.
