Dimensioning Units

Hey,

Is there a way I can carry on drawing in my usual units which is in decimal where 1 = 1 meter, but have the dimensions come out as 1000 = 1 meter?

I have always drawn in 1 = 1 meter, but when dimensioning I have never liked the way it looks with the decimal points, I would prefer these were in millimeters. I know the alternative is to draw in millimeters to start with but other than the fact I would need to change ALL my blocks, title blocks and text scales to match, I am so used to meters that its ingrained in me and when I try to change I always make silly mistakes and end up going back to meters.

If there really isn't a way I guess I will need to get used to drawing in millimeters and spend the time changing everything over :-(

Using AutoCAD 2008 btw

Thanks

Mark

dimensioning has it's own separate units from the drawing units, so the answer is 'yes'.

go to edit your dimension style and under 'primary units' you could change the scale factor to .001, which should then show 1 unit as 1000 units.

you could even add a suffix of 'mm' if you wanted to get fussy.

hope this helps.
