dialer acting weird?

hi,

 

my desktop running on winxp sp1 is acting weird...dialer is dialing my isp even without me prompting it.it just keeps on dialing even right after i cancel it. when i looked at my processes i found a new entry..something like a traceroute.exe.is this a valid xp process?i ended the process and the dialer quit dialling.was i hit by a virus/trojan/spyware?anybody?

i think so, check the add remove program , wheter there is some progrm like traceroute.exe... if not go to run , type regedit, it ll open registry editor.

n click my computer then serch for 'traceroute'.. delete those traceroute find , use find next , to find all the files in registry n delete it all ,

Probably the best all-around spyware finder-killer is SpyBot-search and destroy

 

but just now the site gave me a 'over limits' error, so maybe they're having problems. The app is great, it will search your drives, files and registry for a huge list of nasty stuff and let you exorcise your PC.
