GUSN
Hello everyone, I just wanted to get some opinions by those of you using one or the other. I was trying to get a demo for nodejoe on 3dsmax2010 64bit, but I don't think they have one. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Justin Hunt
Dont they do different things? Nodejoe is a node based material editor whilst Zookeeper controls everything? I have heard good things about zookeeper Besides Nodejoe has been incorporated into Max2011 as the Slate editor. jhv
GUSN
Thanks for your quick response Justin. As far as nodejoe being incorporated into Max2011, I'm not quite ready to take that leep yet to upgrade. I still hear a lot of negative reactions from Max2011 users. I wasn't too familiar with zookeeper so that's why I was asking. It seems zookeeper is a little less expensive, so that's a plus.
Justin Hunt
I must admit I struggle to get my head around node based material editors. They are great if you are creating complex shaders, but for most of the stuff I do I found I was basically using the old interface to set things, so I reverted back to the old editor. Max2011 is a little quirky with some of the new stuff but once you are used to them its a great upgrade. Some tools like the object painter were reason enough for me to upgrade. jhv
GUSN
Yeah, I here you. As every new software that Autodesk releases, they do have a lot of new features that make it even more attractive. However, sometimes they just try to reinvent the wheel too many times in my opinion. GN
