tampac66
Hi, I want to model furniture in 3ds max and import it into revit as a new family. However, when i try to export the max file as a DWG and then import the DWG into a generic model family in revit, it takes a very very long time, and usually freezes up. Also, in revit, even when solid with edges is shading is on, you can still see the wire mesh of the model. Is there a good work flow for using 3ds max models in a revit project? Cyberstyle
It can be done but with limitation. Revit can not really handle geometry in the same way that Max does. Especially multiple angles, and edges. Keep your poly's low, geometry basic and really try to avoid detail like chamfered edges etc..... Autodesk recommend using the SAT file format to get models back into Revit from Max. (it is still slow)
