Tim Nelson
Is there any way to export a 2004/5 format dwg to a 2000 format drawing and not have it bind the xrefs? One option I have is to unload the xref first, save down, and then you can reload the xref once you are in 2000. But doing that on a lot of files will take for-e-ver. Any advice? Chad Warner
Don't have ACAD in front of me at the moment, but I seem to remember there being an option somewhere in the preferences that you could set. -Chad
Onslaught
You can use the "e-transmit" command. It zips up your drawings automatically and it converts drawings to lower version of autocad, including the xref drawings attached. You have to do it one drawing at a time though. Tim Nelson
Yea, I forgot about the e-transmit command. I just wish that when you add files into it, it would also save those down as well.
Onslaught
I think it does. I've been sending drawings to our consultants that needs 2000 ver. I just e-transmit the drawings with the x-refs. I have not heard any complaints yet, so I guess it converts it too.
Onslaught
You can also use the "BATCH DRAWING CONVERTER". It converts drawings without opening them. Good if you have 20 or more drawings to convert.

Onslaught
Our CAD manager installed it. I think you have to download it from autodesk. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=4091676&linkID=2475161
