3ds Max 9

Hi guys,

New here

I have a trial version of 3ds max 9 and when I go to install it it is asking for a registration password before I even install. I never heard of this? When I insert cd it sends me to the web page to register product. When did autodesk start doing this?

Now I have to download 2011 free trial and its the same thing!

Anyone know what is happening?

If the trial version has past 30 days then it's over You need to uninstall it there is no way to reactive it unless you go out and buy the full verison of max. to my knowleage i don't think you can have two max's on your system unless you have a multiple license to use both. I think you need to install one then uninstall the other. i had the max 7 8 and 9 demos you never used to need to go online they are already set to a trial version

It's purely a marketing/demographics thing. You fill the form out, they can see who is using their software. That's all. It's the same with many trials these days, you must register with the companies in order to get access to the download.

Hey guys,

Thanks for your help. There seems to be no solution to the problem. I don't remember the company who gave me the trial desk but apparently they have the password to unlock the install. This also seems to be a rather unique problem. No one has heard of an registration password.

Even if I follow through with registration I don't receive any password. oh well!

I'll stick with max 8 till I can afford 2011 which is awesome!!
